Some time ago God began growing a prayer in my heart. It took many months for Him to compose the final version. Ultimately He began challenging me to faithfully lift those requests to Him with eagerness and expectation. He has clearly demonstrated to me His faithfulness in honoring my requests prayed at His instruction. The time has arrived to "go public" and invite you to join me as we, ALL OF US TOGETHER, praying these concerns to the Father. It is quite true that as individuals, all of us can and should pray about a wide variety of personal and "other centered" concerns. However, there is also need for us as a corporate body to join together around a clear and concise prayer focus that will promote the results of God in and through our larger body of faith. This is the prayer:
For as long as it takes
I will pray every day
that You, Father God, will make all necessary changes
in me,
in my relationships,
in First Baptist Church Duluth...
until such time as You are completely free to pour out Your Holy Spirit
upon us in mighty, sustained, Biblically authentic waves of revival,
witnessed in:
the lost being saved,
the saved powerfully demonstrating the life of Christ,
and our community impacted unto Godly focus and living.
If you wish to join others in praying this prayer, I would like to know of your commitment. I ask that you register your participation: by sending an email to , by sending a note, or by using the registration tear-off on your Order of Worship. There is nothing legalistic about participating in this experience. If you miss a day or a week, no one is going to chastise you, because no one other than you will know. At certain points in time, I want to send an inspirational "Wednesday reminder" to those who are led to do this. I would also like to know when and how you witness the clear responses of God to these requests.
Thanks!
