 Dr. Mark Hearn
Senior Pastor
Mark is a native of Pulaski, Virginia where he accepted Christ and was baptized. It was there that he was ordained into the ministry and has served as pastor in six other churches prior to coming to First Baptist Duluth. Previously, he was the Senior Pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana where he led the church to excel in missions giving and missions involvement, having been on several domestic and international mission experiences himself. He has been President of the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana and a Trustee for Lifeway Christian Resources. In 2009, he authored the book Being Church 101 that was published by Crossbooks Publishing. Mark earned his Master of Divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminary. Mark is married to Glenda and they have four daughters and three grandsons.

 Jeremy Greer
Minister of Administration
An Atlanta native, he is a graduate of Georgia Tech and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Karen, and they have two sons. Jeremy has served here at First Baptist Church Duluth since August 2005. Prior to joining our staff, he served at First Baptist Church Atlanta and worked as an engineer in the software field. In his free time, he enjoys reading, golf, and drinking coffee at Starbucks.

 Keith Murdock
Minister of Adults
A graduate of Samford University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he and his wife Margaret have two adult children. Keith has served the Lord at First Baptist Duluth since August 1997. "First Baptist is a 'seven-day-a-week' church," he says. "It reaches people with ministries every day of the week and at many locations -- in the community, around the nation and around the world." Keith and his wife, Margaret, live in Lawrenceville.

 Travis Boyd
Minister of Music and Worship
Travis has served on staff at First Baptist since November 2008, coming to our church from First Baptist Church of Pryor, Oklahoma. He became a Christian at age 23, and was called into the ministry while teaching in the public school system of Velma, Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and his Master's Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Cindy, have a married daughter, Meredith, and six sons; Jared, Zachary, Braden, Logan, Austin, and Camden.
Travis is a composer and arranger of solo, choral, and instrumental music. He currently has several pieces in print with Shawnee Press, Lorenz Music, Choristers Guild, and LifeWay. He is a past president of the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma and currently is an active member of the Sons of Jubal. His hobbies include golf and being a "handyman" around the house.

 Chris Bryan
Minister of Youth
Chris Bryan, our Minister of Youth, was born and raised in Augusta, GA. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris is married to Jessica, who enjoys writing and speaking. Chris became part of the FBCD staff team during the summer of 2009. Chris enjoys playing guitar, watching football, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.

 Alan Morris
Minister to Preschool and Children
Alan Morris, our minister of preschool and children, has more than 16 years of experience working with children and their families. He has enjoyed serving with many different volunteers in a variety of situations, from social concerns ministries and food service ministries to day camps and mission trips. Since he came to First Baptist Church Duluth in September 2005, he has started up the dynamic Kidz Worship program on Sunday mornings, coordinated the renovation of our children’s ministry area at the church, and added a whole roster of “Spectacular Summer” opportunities for families. Alan is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He married to Diane, has two children, and lives in Sugar Hill.
