The goal of our league is to help the children develop Christian character first and soccer skills second by allowing them to play in a fun and supportive environment.

The recreation ministry offers soccer during the fall and baseball / softball in the spring. Our leagues are quite different from most other children’s leagues! The purpose of our Recreation Ministry is to create ministry opportunities through our sports programs. As a result, we have raised the bar for children’s recreational leagues across Metro Atlanta.

Our relationships define who we are as individuals. The way in which we relate to one another speaks volumes. The athletic arena offers us a great environment in which we can teach, learn, and grow. Athletic excellence is important but is secondary to excellence of character. The two cannot and should not be separated. It is our goal to provide a quality league in which children receive the encouragement and support they need to succeed in both sports and life. It is also our goal as a Christian organization to exemplify the characteristics of Christ and to develop from those a transformational attitude of self-worth and respect for others. As coaches and parents, it is our responsibility to provide such an environment. In a world where children are increasingly disregarded and forgotten, someone must step in and proclaim the truth of their value. It is our desire to create a safe atmosphere where children can learn the game while having fun!
One coach writes: "Three seasons of involvement as a coach with the Recreational Ministry at FBC Duluth, have given me the opportunity to see children grow in much more than their knowledge and ability in a sport. I’ve seen them develop new friendships, experience commitment to a team, learn to express themselves in prayer and bask in the warmth of their parent’s attention. A ministry this well-organized has a preserving effect on the health of our community: it draws a father’s heart closer to his children and draws families closer to our Father’s heart."
