Philosophy
We believe that the preschool years should be happy and relaxed -- a time in which children feel successful. We recognize that all children pass through various stages of growth, yet all children have their own rate and pattern of growth. When children enter preschool, it is our belief that they do not come to learn the "three R's." They come to develop habits and share experiences that will provide a foundation upon which they will later build the skills and tasks that are necessary for their future contributions in society. We believe this preschool is a ministry of the church and that the preschool child should be provided with experiences that help to stimulate an awareness of God.
Goals
Our major preschool and kindergarten goal is to provide the children with the following opportunities:
- To have a variety of experiences in which they feel successful.
- To combine old and new learnings to form a firm foundation.
- To express their ideas in a variety of ways, such as art, music and language.
- To be a part of large- and small-group activities.
- To learn through problem-solving and discovery methods.
- To be in situations where they can begin to develop an awareness of the relationship between freedom and responsibility.
- To be in an environment where they feel loved, needed and secure.
- To be in situations which stimulate social, emotional, physical and spiritual growth.
- To learn about God through sharing, songs and the Bible.
Objective
We strive to provide children with exciting opportunities to support social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive growth and development.
