Listed below are some ideas to spark your group for a fall missions project. It is by no means exhaustive. These are ministries FBCD already partners with throughout the year.
Pray with your group as to where God would have you join Him!
Once you have decided on a ministry, please communicate with the contact person listed so they can put you on their calendar. Each contact is the Missions Committee liaison to that group or works directly with that group.

1. Prepare and serve “southern” style dishes for snack time during class.
2. Host a picnic for the students.
3. Greet people on Wednesday evenings.
4. Host a game day with refreshments on FBCD fields.
5. Help in the nursery on Wednesday evenings from 5:50- 7:40!
Hands for Christ, Duluth Co-Op: Lori Drake @

1. Plan a food drive in your neighborhood, at work, or sports team.
2. Volunteer to work at the Hands of Christ facility.

1. Check with Cathy Humprey to see if there are any repairs needed at a DDM home.
2. Help low income widows, disabled person, single moms or the elderly with “handyman” projects around their house.
WELLSPRING: Contact Sharon Rowan @

1. Yard work.
2. Game night with ladies (only ladies allowed).
3. Teach a cooking class or some other skill to the residents.
4. Host a “paper goods” shower for the home and then deliver it to the home.
5. Work at the store in Duluth
6. Make gift items and donate them to the store.
7. Bake some desserts and take them to the home.

1. Work together to fill some gift baskets that will be auctioned off at The Spree on November 5 as a fund raiser for DDM. The money will go to scholarship families to participate in the annual Special Family Retreat and toward a new roof on one of the DDM homes.
2. Host a party for friends at one of the DDM homes.
3. Help with Respite Care at FBCD on October 15, November 19, &/or December 17.
4. Do yard work or home repairs at one of the DDM homes.
5. 5K race on October 22 at 8am at Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville to raise money for DDM residents.

1. Prepare tea and finger foods to enjoy with the ladies during classes.
2. Help unpack boxes and organize new facilities…moved at the end of September.
3. Host a “notions” (thread, needles, rickrack, buttons, etc) party and donate the gifts to RSS.

1. Host a game night at Plantation South in Duluth.
2. Host a baby shower for the Pregnancy Resource Center in Gwinnett.
3. Buy and chill water bottles to hand out at FBCD soccer games.
4. Make blankets or lap robes to donate to a hospital.
5. Make a hearty meal for the firefighters and police in Duluth.
6. Host a block party in the neighborhood where you are meeting for BT.
7. Get a list of needs from Cindy Pethan for families with no permanent residence.
8. Do something special for the educators in your area school.
9. Do something for the Veterans in Duluth.
