The Interactive Book Club (IBC) will be making valentines, then taking them and baked goods to the Veterans Center in Lawrenceville.

The children of Blue Ridge will have many nice gifts under their tree this Christmas thanks to the ladies on mission.  For two months they were buying and gathering toys and clothes along with many other things for the children.  On December 1st they made the trip to the Copper Basin Crisis Center to deliver their gifts!  The directors of the center were thrilled to see so many wonderful gifts!

Thank you, ladies, for putting love in action!

BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAIN MISSIONS

September 22-24, a group of 15 people ministered to the marvelous mountain people in Blue Ridge, GA.  This is part of the Appalachia region of our country.  The group worked hard as they put all the clothing items (many bags and boxes) they had taken onto hangers and shelves in the crisis center's clothing room.  One lady made and took 50 crocheted hats that were put aside for Christmas gifts for the children.

The group also visited in the LifeCare Center in Ducktown, TN.  It was a joy to hear the residents sing the old hymns of the faith.

The ladies are looking forward to gathering items to take back in December for the children to receive as Christmas gifts.

We praise God for the example that these ladies give us in helping others.

These are definitely women on mission with Jesus guided by the Holy Spirit to share God's love with the world!

Acteens is a mission group for girls 12-17 that meets weekly.  An Acteen is involved in learning about missionaries, past and present, and people groups around the world.  After studying a specific group’s culture and the work that is going on among them, an Acteen is better able to pray for their unique needs.  Acteens also learn the importance of giving back to God what He has entrusted to them whether it is a special talent, their time, or money.  Opportunities are offered for the girls to leave the classroom and go out themselves and share Jesus’ love and salvation.  Being an Acteen means your world is broadened by learning what God is doing around the world and joining Him through praying, giving, and going.

Quest is for Acteens who want to strengthen their personal relationship with Christ with an emphasis on missions.  There is a different Quest for each year through high school.  They include Confidence, Courage, Character, Creativity, Excellence, and Vision.  A girl works on her own to complete a total of 16 different activities in her Quest under the categories of Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength.  God’s Word is a major part of each Quest because that is where a girl can learn how Christ lived and loved which is the example we must follow.  Because the work is mostly individual, Quest only meets once a month.  At the end of the year, a girl presents her Quest notebook and memorization work for review.
