At First Baptist Church we understand the importance of worship in the life of every believer.  Our Music and Worship Ministries exist to lead God’s people in meaningful and life-changing worship experiences.  Our musical groups meet regularly to prepare themselves spiritually and musically.  Our technical teams are at work behind the scenes, enhancing and supporting each worship experience.  We incorporate music, drama, media, and other expressions of worship into each service and special production.  We encourage you to become involved in our Music and Worship Ministries.  If you have questions, call the church office (770-476-3788) and ask to speak to Travis Boyd.

Graded Choirs

Our graded choirs meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. during the school year.  There are choirs for preschool through fifth grade.  Marie Agnew, our Graded Choirs Coordinator, and her excellent staff of directors and choir workers provide a comprehensive program which focuses on the spiritual and musical discipleship of each child.  The choirs present various programs throughout the year, as well as ministering in various settings outside the walls of our church.

Student Worship Arts Team (S.W.A.T.)

S.W.A.T. is for students in grades 6-12.  They meet each week on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.  There are groups involved in preparing drama, dance, technical ministries, select ensembles, and instrumental music.  The S.W.A.T. Choir meets at 5:10, and is a time where everyone comes together as a group to learn the music, and plan ministry projects.  This group is involved throughout the year in local and long-term outreach and ministry projects.

Celebration Singers (Adult Choir)

The Celebration Singers meet each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.  They are responsible for leading worship in the 10:50 service each Sunday morning, as well as presenting seasonal and non-seasonal musical and dramatic programs through the year. 

Celebration Orchestra

The Celebration Orchestra also rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.  Their ministry includes accompanying congregational music, accompanying the Celebration Choir, as well as presenting preludes and offertories.  If you play an instrument and would be interested in becoming a part of this fine group of folks, please schedule an appointment with Travis Boyd, our Minister of Music and Worship. 

Handbell Choirs

Our handbell ringers meet weekly throughout the year and provide preludes and offertories in our 10:50 service, as well as providing special music during the holiday season.  Membership in these groups are by audition only.  If you are interested in finding out more about how you can become involved in our handbell choirs, please contact Travis Boyd at 770-476-3788.

Technical Teams
